Since 1973, VKA Security has served Northeast Florida with honest advice, trusted technology, and local service customers can count on. What began as a small locksmith shop on State Road 16 has grown into a third-generation security company built on relationships, accountability, and pride in doing the work right.
VKA Security began in 1973, when Roland and Wanda Oakley purchased a small saw-sharpening and locksmith shop on State Road 16. Originally known as Village Key & Saw Shop, the business was built on hard work, skilled craftsmanship, and a simple belief: take care of people, and earn their trust.
As the needs of the community changed, the company changed with them. Roland and Wanda’s son, Jeff Oakley, joined the business in the late 1970s and led its expansion into electronic security. Over time, VKA added intrusion alarms, fire alarm systems, access control, video surveillance, and professional monitoring.

Jeff’s commitment to customers was personal. When a service call came in—even during dinner or late at night—he answered it. That willingness to be there when people needed help became part of the company’s identity and remains part of VKA today.
Sarah Oakley grew up in the family business. She began helping in the office around age eleven, answering phones, organizing paperwork, greeting customers, and making basic keys. After gaining experience in accounting and business operations, Sarah returned to VKA full-time in 2009. Today, she leads the company as its third-generation president, building on her family’s legacy while preparing VKA for the future.
